A letter to my customers in the EU
To all my customers and friends across Europe,
I am writing this with a very heavy heart. Since 12th August 2026, I have had to temporarily pause shipping to countries within the European Union.
This is not because I no longer want to sell to Europe. I very much want to continue sending handmade jewellery to customers across Europe, as I have done for many years.
Why is EU shipping paused?
New EU packaging rules have created additional requirements for businesses selling into the EU.
For a micro-business, these requirements can involve:
- Registration in different EU countries
- Different national packaging rules and systems
- Additional reporting and administration
- Fees and other costs
For a small jewellery business sending individual handmade orders, this can be a very large burden compared with the small amount of packaging involved.
I have spent a great deal of time trying to understand the requirements and find a practical, affordable and compliant solution. I believe I may now have a possible way forward.
I am working towards a solution
I am currently exploring a service that could provide a practical way for a small UK business like mine to meet the new requirements without having to register separately in multiple EU countries.
There are still details to work through, and I want to make sure that any solution I use is both compliant and financially realistic for a small independent business.
My aim is to resume shipping to the EU in September.
I am very hopeful that this will allow me to continue sending my handmade jewellery to customers across Europe, without passing unreasonable additional costs on to you.
This is not my choice.
I support the aims of reducing packaging waste and improving recycling. But I believe the rules also need to be proportionate and practical for micro-businesses and independent makers.
For a business like mine, sending small individual jewellery orders, the administrative and financial burden can be considerable.
A note for my European customers
I am very sorry that EU shipping is currently on hold. I know that many of you have supported me for years, and I truly value that.
I have not made this decision lightly, and I am doing everything I can to find a way back.
My aim is to resume EU shipping in September, and I very much hope to be able to welcome my European customers back soon.
Please note: This temporary pause applies only to EU countries. Shipping to Switzerland and Norway is not affected.
Please consider adding your voice
If you are in the EU and feel that these rules are making it unnecessarily difficult for small businesses to sell across European borders, you can make your voice heard.

If you choose to support either of these, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for supporting small independent businesses and handmade jewellery.
With very best wishes,
